Back in March 2013, I had an epiphany to use recruiting for good and help travelers save money. I emailed Dan Ilves at the time he was Vice President, Leisure Sales & Marketing at TravelStore. He invited me to come in to his office (and meet in person). Wido Schaefer (Chairman and Founder, TravelStore) also walked into meeting and was listening intently to my pitch. Dan shared with me content, and I created a landing page on my website to reward gift cards with TravelStore.
Dan suggested I work with nonprofits to make referrals for my business; rewards for making a difference. "Simply, put someone would refer Recruiting for Good to a company hiring professional staff; our team would help the company find an employee, earn a finder's fee that would be shared (donating a portion to a nonprofit), and rewarding a travel saving for the referral too (gift card with TravelStore).
I tried collaborating with nonprofits; but after years of meetings after meetings that went into more meetings...I finally decided to start my own social impact program. Something that was meaningful to me and super fun in March 2020, I launched Kids Get Paid to Eat (15 kids reviewed The Top 100 Dishes in LA). Since, then, I have done over 100 gigs, and served over 100 kids. Kids on The Sweetest Gigs, learn sweet skills, success habits, and positive values. Talented kids in LA and NJ are doing sweet creative gigs, every month. Just do a great job, and land another sweet gig! Just like in the real world.
