Why I Love Mentoring Kids...

I believe the best way to do so is by role modeling the values, you try to instill in their minds. I use a variety of tools to accomplish my sweet passion driven purpose. One way is using examples, another way is being reflective, and asking questions.

As I begin to mentor kids in The Sweetest Gigs; I inspire them to come up with a title for themselves (a nom de guerre). This playful self-discovery process, is sweet and fulfilling (kids learn to appreciate themselves).

On a recent email to Ryan, one awesome kid on sweet gig Colors by Ryan; I asked him probing questions, and also gave him sound advice that sometimes the answers, we seek are not immediate...but take time. When I finish delivering tidbits and wisdom...I always take my own advice by asking one self-reflective question:

"How is this showing up in my life? Since, I was talking with Ryan about nicknames and titles, I realized I too needed to change...something more fun and sweet...so I changed my square card to a circle and added a title reflective of the work I now create and curate!"
